Course Title: Marine Ecology

Course Description: Examines processes and interactions in ocean ecosystems. Topics include an introduction to major ocean ecosystems; the biotic and abiotic factors influencing the distributions, abundances, and interactions of marine organisms; and the transformation and flux of energy and matter in marine systems. Particularly emphasizes local coastal habitats, which are used to demonstrate quantitative field research methods.
