| Course Description: | Examines the themes, techniques, and cultural contexts of postmodern American and British poetry, 1950 to the present. Considers a range of representative poets and poems; such groups as Beat, neosurrealist, African-American, and L-A-N-G-U-A-G-E poets; such practices as field composition and performance poetry; and such issues as appropriation and the intersections of modernism and postmodernism. |
