Course Title: Seminar in Policing

Course Description: Examines the police function from a multitude of perspectives. Moves beyond analysis of the institution of the public police to explore the broader meaning and role of policing in modern societies. Emphasizes changes in the organization, structure, strategies, and control of policing. Students are expected to critically analyze existing empirical research that sheds light on the effectiveness of the police.
